Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how CallYourKid ("we," "us," or "our"), operating at callyourkid.com, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our supervised call platform ("Service"). The Service is currently available exclusively to Colorado residents and parties whose supervised contact arrangements are subject to Colorado jurisdiction. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1a. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any other information you voluntarily provide during registration or in your account profile.
1b. Payment Information
We collect billing information necessary to process your subscription. Payment card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems. We retain records of transaction amounts, dates, and subscription status.
1c. Call Recordings
All calls conducted through the Service are recorded in their entirety using telephony infrastructure provided by Twilio, Inc. Recordings capture the audio of all participants on the call, including minor children. Recordings are stored in encrypted cloud storage and are associated with your account and session records.
1d. Call Transcripts
Calls are automatically transcribed using speech recognition technology. Transcripts are text representations of the spoken content of each call and may contain inaccuracies inherent to automated transcription. Transcripts are stored securely and linked to their associated session record.
1e. Automated Safety Analysis
The content of calls -- including real-time speech segments and transcripts -- is analyzed by automated systems that screen for safety concerns, including potential violations of court orders, threats to minors, and other prohibited conduct described in our Terms of Service. These systems process call content in real time and after a call concludes. Analysis results and any triggered alerts are logged and associated with the relevant session record.
1f. Session and Usage Data
We collect data about sessions including scheduled dates and times, session duration, participant join and leave times, PIN usage, session status, and supervisor activity. We also collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages accessed when you use our web interface.
1g. Communications
If you contact us by email or through the Service, we retain records of that correspondence.

3. Purpose Limitation -- Recordings and Transcripts Are Not Legal Records
The automated transcription and safety analysis tools used by this Service are designed and deployed exclusively to support the safety functions of the platform. Transcripts are produced by automated speech recognition technology, which is inherently imperfect and may contain material inaccuracies. They are not certified, verified, or legally authenticated records. They are not created with the intent or expectation of use as evidence in family court, divorce proceedings, custody hearings, criminal proceedings, or any other legal forum.
CallYourKid will evaluate any attorney subpoena, records request, or legal demand for recordings, transcripts, or safety logs on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to object to, seek to quash, or seek a protective order against any request we determine to be overbroad, unduly burdensome, intended as a litigation fishing expedition, or otherwise not supported by a lawful basis. We may require that any legal demand for records be supported by a valid court order specifically describing the records sought and the legal basis for the request.
Account holders and their legal representatives do not have an automatic right to obtain all recordings, transcripts, or safety logs associated with their account for use in legal proceedings simply by virtue of their account status. Such requests are evaluated individually and may be denied or limited in scope. We are not a discovery vendor and will not function as one.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
4a. Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party providers necessary to operate the Service. These include:
- Twilio, Inc. -- telephony services, call routing, recording infrastructure, and real-time transcription. Call recordings and audio are processed through Twilio's systems.
- Stripe, Inc. -- payment processing and subscription management.
- Supabase, Inc. -- database and backend infrastructure hosting account data, session records, transcripts, and logs.
- AI processing providers -- automated analysis of call transcripts for safety screening purposes. Content submitted for analysis is processed under strict data handling terms and is not used to train models without your consent.
All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.
4b. Legal Process and Law Enforcement
We will disclose information, including call recordings and transcripts, in response to a valid subpoena, court order, search warrant, or other lawful legal process. We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a child or other person, prevent fraud or abuse of our Service, or comply with applicable law.
4c. Family Courts and Attorneys
We do not proactively share recordings, transcripts, or safety logs with attorneys or legal representatives. Attorneys and legal representatives seeking access to session data must provide a valid, specific court order or lawfully issued subpoena. We will evaluate all such requests as described in Section 3 above. General or open-ended requests for "all records" or "all recordings" related to a party or case will be objected to as overbroad absent a court order compelling specific production.
4d. Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or other business transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for a period thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods:
- Call recordings: Retained for a minimum of 24 months from the date of the session. Recordings related to active or anticipated legal proceedings may be retained longer.
- Transcripts and safety logs: Retained for a minimum of 24 months.
- Account and billing records: Retained for 7 years or as required by applicable law.
- Session metadata: Retained for 24 months after account termination.
Upon account deletion, we will remove personally identifiable account information within a reasonable timeframe. However, recordings, transcripts, and logs associated with active legal matters will be retained until those matters are resolved and all applicable retention periods have expired.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is designed for use by adults (18+) who facilitate supervised calls involving minor children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 for account creation purposes. However, because the core function of the Service involves recording calls that include minor children as call participants, recordings and transcripts will inherently contain the voices and statements of minors. This data is collected with the consent of the account holder, who by accepting these Terms represents they have authority to consent on behalf of the minor participant(s).
If you believe a minor's information has been collected in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, please contact us at hello@callyourkid.com.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted data storage, access controls limiting who can view recordings and transcripts, and authentication requirements for accessing account data.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8a. Access and Correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or request corrections to inaccurate information by contacting us at hello@callyourkid.com.
8b. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Please note that certain data may be retained as described in Section 4, including data related to legal proceedings or required by law.
8c. Recordings
Access to call recordings is governed by your account permissions and any applicable court orders. Requests to delete recordings will be evaluated in light of our legal obligations, active legal proceedings, and data retention requirements.
8d. Communications
You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time. You cannot opt out of transactional communications related to your account, such as payment receipts and service notices.
9. Cookies and Tracking
Our web interface uses session cookies necessary for authentication and basic functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. We may use analytics data to understand how the Service is used in order to improve it.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or by posting a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
